Cherlou
Chalet is a luxury self-catering cottage situated in the Champagne
Castle region of Central Drakensburg, which is a world heritage
site for both natural beauty and cultural interest. Within the
splendour of the mountain range are caves with bushman paintings,
which are on the many hiking trails.
The privately owned chalet is situated within a timeshare resort,
and benefits from the 
management
facilities and security of the small complex whilst retaining
privacy in its location.
Cherlou Chalet accommodates 8 people in stylish surroundings.
Attention to comfort and a decorative flair is evident. The
chalet consists of 4 bedrooms (2 en suite) and 3 heated bathrooms
which are configured as follows:
Upstairs is made up of 2 bedrooms, a main en suite bedroom with
queen sized bed and a couch, as well as an en suite bedroom
with a three quarter and 2 separate extra length beds.
Downstairs has a bedroom with 2 three quarter extra length
beds, as well as another smaller bedroom with 2 beds. These
2 rooms share a full bathroom.
Extra comforts include heating in all rooms, plus down duvets.
Bathtowels are provided for each guest (not for outdoor use
– kindly bring swimming towels)
The chalet is equipped with a full DVD home theatre system,
with a flat screen TV and a CD player. A ‘full bouquet’
smart card is available for hire. The lounge boasts a fire place
and firewood may be purchased on site.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer,
a microwave, thermo fan stove, dishwasher, washing machine and
a tumble dryer. Granite working surfaces compliment the luxurious
finishes and excellent range of cooking equipment and utensils.
There is a private outside braai barbeque area and outdoor
furniture is provided, where a meal under the umbrella offers
a breathtaking mountainside vista. A store room is available
for guests wishing to bring mountain bikes.
The complex swimming pool, tennis court and trampoline are
within close proximity. Canoes are available for use on the
dam.
There is an on-site superette, restaurant and a pub, as well
as a games room. Daily horse riding is available. Full servicing
on a daily basis is available on request.
Nearby Attractions: Guests may enjoy the use of 2 pristine
golf courses a five minute drive away. Other nearby places of
interest are ethnic craft stalls, a candle making and Rug weaving
factory. Helicopter flips are available at a nearby resort.
